Mo-Ranch Presbyterian Conference Center is a church-based retreat center but does not exclude visitors of other faiths. It's easy to reach either from state highway 27 in Kerrville to highway 39 to highway 1340 at Hunt, from Interstate 10. But choose Highway 27, which will take you to 11 scenic water crossings that follow the same route stage coaches used to take.

Mo-Ranch Presbyterian Conference Center is near Kerrville, Texas along the Guadeloupe River. Generations of "summer campers" know about Mo, but it offers all types of retreat events for adults and children alike. My agency really likes Mo-Ranch because the center does not require a contract for overnight accommodations, which my group of 25 people have used for seven years for training and workshops. Recent capital improvements included renovation of hotel rooms that compare with well-known business hotels. I judge hotels by their bathrooms, and no exaggeration: my showerhead was better than the one I used earlier this year in one of Houston's newest luxury hotels. The ranch offers all types of accommodations either on the river or high in the hills overlooking hundreds of acres. Opened 24/7, they even have a "Polar Bear Plunge" into the river on New Year's Day that was featured in National Geographic.

Awesome retreat site. I love the quiet and relaxing view of the Guadalupe river. The fierce speed of the water slide. The classic and strong canoes that provide a swift experience on quiet waters. The lodges are excellent and filled with rejuvenating air. The view is absolutely gorgeous from the bottom of the hill to the top. A view so astonishing even the DJI drone would shed tears of joy from its crystal clear lenses. I loved my experience there with everyone and with nature.

A Gem of the Hill Country

My family and I stayed in Wynne/Flato for my birthday weekend. The drive thru the Hill Country from San Antonio was beautiful and we were not disappointed when we reached Mo Ranch. The facility looked a little dated in the hallways but inside the rooms were spacious and accommodating (if you're looking for a getaway this place is it, there wasn't even a TV in our room but I was ok with that). As a Housekeeping Supervisor I am a little more particular about standards and the cleaning staff did not disappoint, the room smelled fresh upon entry, there was no dust, and linens were fresh and tidy. There was even a spacious balcony overlooking the grounds. The staff when called for extra pillows & amenities was very pleasant and quickly responded. The grounds are excellently maintained. We enjoyed canoeing, the rope swing & the fantastic slide. Our night ended with a BBQ buffet by the river that knocked our socks off. In all in all this was a wonderful place to spend time with the family, we will be back.
